What Does This Company Do?
Cheniere Energy was founded as an oil and gas exploration company in 1996, but in late 2000, management decided to refocus and concentrate on the development of liquefied natural gas regasification terminals along the Gulf Coast. The firm wholly owns three proposed terminals, with one expected to become operational in 2008. The firm also holds a 30% stake in a privately held fourth terminal.
