Harvard: 1 student killed in NJ accident
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — Harvard University officials say a student has died and other students have been injured in a traffic accident in New Jersey.
The fatal accident was announced to students in an email Monday from interim undergraduate dean Donald Pfister.
The Boston Globe and the Harvard Crimson student newspaper reported the email said the crash occurred as students were returning to Harvard Monday morning after taking part in a competition in Virginia over the weekend.
Pfister wrote that the student who was killed was not being identified immediately because university officials hadn't been able to contact the students' parents. He said some of the injured were hospitalized.
Pfister said he would provide an update later on what he called on what he called "a terrible tragedy that has affected all of us in the college."Associated Press
