Agawam man gets up to 7 years for fatal crash
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — An Agawam man has been sentenced to up to seven years in state prison in connection with a car crash last year that killed a 16-year-old high school sophomore riding in his car.
The Republican (http://bit.ly/1rlHArE ) reports that Vincent Albertson was sentenced Tuesday in Hampden Superior Court after pleading guilty to manslaughter by motor vehicle while driving under the influence of liquor and driving with a suspended license.
Prosecutors say the 24-year-old Albertson was behind the wheel in West Springfield late on the night of on Nov. 30 when his vehicle went off the road, hit a utility pole and rolled onto its side.
One of his four passengers, 16-year-old Amanda Croisetiere, a sophomore at Agawam High School, was pronounced dead at the scene.
