Ex-Bronx landlord gets 25 years in prison in tenant killing
NEW YORK (AP) — A former Bronx landlord has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing a tenant whose remains were found three years later by utility workers clearing brush in upstate New York.
Prosecutors say Nasean Bone was sentenced Thursday after being convicted of manslaughter in the 2012 death of 35-year-old Ramona Moore.
Bonie was Moore's building superintendent. He had pleaded not guilty to murder and manslaughter charges related to her death despite the lack of a corpse. Prosecutors say he had been arguing with the tenant for weeks.
Moore's skeletal remains were found 40 miles north of the Bronx just before Bonie's trial was set to begin.
Bonie is already serving four years in prison for beating his wife.Associated Press
