(AP) — A day after 2 to 3 inches of rain fell on parts of Connecticut, more rain is expected in the state over the next two days.

The National Weather Service says a storm Monday evening brought an average of 2 to 3 inches of rain to some communities in southwest Connecticut, including Bridgeport and New Haven. A flash flood watch remains in effect for portions of Connecticut through Wednesday afternoon.

WFSB-TV reports (bit.ly/U9n7Jv) that parts of Interstate 95 south in New Haven were closed Monday evening because of flooding and that flooding in Westport forced some motorists to abandon their cars.
