2 killed in California crash involving wrong-way driver

(AP) — Authorities say two people have been killed in a fiery crash caused by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 5 in Southern California.

The collision involving has snarled southbound traffic on the key commuter route in Anaheim early Monday.

The California Highway Patrol says multiple people called to report a sedan traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on the southbound side of the interstate around 3:20 a.m.

The sedan burst into flames following a violent collision that spread debris across lanes. A van overturned and slammed into a concrete divider.

All southbound lanes were initially closed but the CHP later reopened the carpool lane.
